CACI Awarded Potential $500M Network Services Subcontract With SAIC to Support Defense Information Systems Agency
Arlington, Va., April 29, 2002 — CACI International Inc (NASDAQ:CACI) announced that it has been awarded a subcontract with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), in San Diego, California, to support the communications network of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The Defense Information System Network (DISN) Global Solutions contract includes one base year, four option years, and four award term years, based on performance. The subcontract calls for CACI to provide managed network services and other technical support to DISA. For more than a decade, CACI has provided DISA with extensive network support under a variety of contracts. As one of the subcontractors under this new award, continued services and enhancements to the company's ability to expand its managed network services, a targeted growth area, is possible.
DISA, through the DISN, has responsibility for the information networks that support the nation's armed forces, any time, anywhere, and under any conditions. This new subcontract is a critical component for accomplishing this mission.
CACI will provide a broad range of managed network services for the DISN, including engineering; implementation planning; staging, testing, storing and installing network nodes and equipment; managing the network configuration; and providing maintenance and network expansion services. The company will also manage network operations centers and warehousing and distribution facilities at both government and company locations worldwide. CACI's more than 10 years of demonstrated comprehensive understanding of DISA's specific requirements, coupled with its expertise in managed network services, assures continuity of high-level support for DISA's worldwide communications missions.
According to Ken Johnson, CACI's President of U.S. Operations, "CACI has the experience and expertise to fully support our customer's critical voice and data networks. Over the years, we have attracted a talented cadre of communications experts who possess the required skills and security clearances needed to maintain vital networks to support the warfighter anywhere in the world."
"We look forward to a continuation of our long service to DISA in partnership with SAIC," said Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI's Chairman and CEO. "Our reputation for providing reliable, low-risk solutions was a significant factor in our winning this award. The size and scope of this contract underscores CACI's expanding role as a provider of high-quality network services solutions for the Department of Defense and the military services."
