FBI Warns Terrorists May Target US Shopping Centers

The FBI has warned its agents nationwide about claims by a captured al-Qaida leader that terrorists may be planning attacks against supermarkets or shopping centers in the United States.
Law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed this latest alert in interviews with U.S. news organizations.
The FBI did not publicize the warning, issued to its field offices Tuesday, because officials say they consider the information less reliable than claims by the same al-Qaida figure that led to a public warning last week of a possible attack on U.S. banks.
In both cases, the information came from Abu Zubaydah - a high-ranking al-Qaida leader who has been under intensive U.S. interrogation since his capture in Pakistan last month.
