
General Dynamics Awarded Contract for $13.4 Million by U.S. Marine Corps
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – General Dynamics Decision Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a five-year contract to build ground-combat operations centers for the U.S. Marine Corps. The initial development phase is valued at $13.4 million.
The General Dynamics team will integrate computerized intelligence, information and communication systems into combat operations centers that provide enhanced situational awareness for deployed Marine forces. The mobile operations centers will be the focal point of decision-making during all phases of ground warfare, allowing Marine forces to digitally collect, process and disseminate tactical data. Called the Unit Operations Center (UOC) program, the contract will be administered by the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va.

Ground commanders at all echelons will benefit from General Dynamics’ aggressive efforts to incorporate operational flexibility for quick, safe deployment. The program will use an open-systems design that will readily accommodate future technology advancements beneficial to joint military operations.
General Dynamics Decision Systems’ teammates on the program include General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Arlington, Va.; General Dynamics C4 Systems, Taunton, Mass.; Brown International Corporation, Huntsville, Ala.; and Ocean Systems Engineering Corporation (OSEC), Oceanside, Calif.
Work under the contract will be done at General Dynamics Decision Systems in Scottsdale; Arizona; at the U.S. Marine Corps base in Quantico, Va.; and in Stafford, Va., and Huntsville, Ala.
