INTRO: The Bush administration is moving to block the assets of another Islamic charity that it believes is involved in funneling money to terrorist groups including al-Qaida. Correspondent Nick Simeone reports on a Saudi foundation with alleged links to terrorists in Somalia and Boznia-Herzegovina.

TEXT: Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill announced this joint U-S/Saudi effort to block accounts belonging to the al-Haramain Islamic Foundation, a group based in Saudi Arabia with branches in a number of countries.

His comments suggest donors were not aware their contributions were helping to finance terrorism.

/// O'NEILL ACT ///

Organizations that pervert the name of charity are an affront to us all and we will find them, expose them and shut them down.

/// END ACT ///

No one answered the phone Monday at the offices of the al-Haramain foundation in Riyadh and there's been no simultaneous announcement about the seizure from the Saudi government.

Six months after the attacks in New York and Washington, U-S officials say the United States and its allies in the war against terrorism have now blocked more than 100 million dollars in terrorist assets. (SIGNED) NEB/NJS/MEM
