CACI Awarded $11.3 Million Contract With Naval Research Laboratory
Recompete Award Expands CACI Support for Naval Electronic Warfare Simulation
Arlington, Va., January 14, 2002 — CACI International Inc (NASDAQ:CACI) announced today that it has been awarded an $11.3 million recompete contract to support the Tactical Electronic Warfare Division's Central Target Simulator at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) based in Washington, D.C. Under the terms of the contract, CACI will provide engineering design, development, and support services to enhance Navy capabilities in protecting the U.S. Fleet. The award, for one base year and four option years, expands the value of CACI's commitment to the Navy and NRL, and strengthens CACI's electronic warfare capabilities. Electronic warfare offerings are a key component of the suite of solutions CACI provides to the intelligence community, which is a strategic growth area for the company.
The NRL contract provides engineering development and support of existing hardware and software to help the Navy safeguard U.S. Fleet assets. CACI's role is to define, simulate, and evaluate known threat systems, as well as those under development, and to support advanced technology to counteract these threats. CACI's comprehensive information technology expertise, electronic warfare and simulation modeling experience, and commitment to the NRL provide a strong foundation for supporting the NRL mission.
"CACI has a very successful long-term partnership with the Naval Research Laboratory," said Ken Johnson, CACI's President of U.S. Operations. "As a result, we have a unique and in-depth knowledge of their systems. We combine this experience with our proven expertise in electronic warfare to deliver solutions that will help NRL continually evolve capabilities to address a variety of threats. And with 'cyber-threats' increasing around the world, this support is more important than ever to the protection of America's Navy."
CACI Chairman and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London stated, "CACI is proud to be able to contribute to America's security with this Naval Research Laboratory award. The contract is part of our ongoing strategy to expand our business as a provider of solutions to the intelligence community. It enables us to maintain focus on our core technology solutions for military intelligence as well as the Department of Defense as a key client base."
