BAE SYSTEMS awarded $63.3 million contract for C4i engineering and technical support

BAE Systems has been awarded a contract by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Patuxent River in St. Inigoes, Maryland. Under the exterior communications engineering and technical support contract, valued at $63.3 million if all options are exercised, BAE Systems Applied Technologies will provide engineering and technical support services to the Special Communications Requirements Division (SCRD).

BAE Systems will provide design, development, integration, test and evaluation, installation, fielding, certification, maintenance, and logistic support for sophisticated communications-electronics for mission functions in command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence (C4I). Systems will include shipboard communications (interior, exterior, and radio), airborne communications, and shore-based (fixed, transportable, and ground mobile). The work will be in support of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, Joint Forces, and national agencies. BAE Systems will provide personnel, services, facilities, materials, and data to support SCRD's initiatives.

The work will be performed by personnel from BAE Systems Applied Technologies offices in California, Maryland, and Chesapeake, Virginia. Other members of the team include AMTI, Blackhawk Management, C-CUBED Corporation, Special Communications and Construction Enterprises, and Systems Integration and Management. The team also includes three academic partners: the University of Maryland's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Tech Research Lab's Communications and Networking lab, and Old Dominion University's Technical Applications Center.
