Operation Enduring Freedom Update
MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., Dec. 24, 2001 -- To date, there have
been approximately 17,000 operational sorties flown since the
beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom. Leaflets were dropped over
six locations and Commando Solo broadcast missions continued in the
region.
Recent improvements to convoy routes on the ground have alleviated the
need for daily C-17 humanitarian aid drops. Future air drops will be
scheduled on a need-by-need basis.
