INTRO: The United States and its allies will mark the first hundred days of the war on terrorism today (Thursday) with the release of a report outlining progress on all fronts. We have more from V-O-A White House Correspondent Paula Wolfson.

TEXT: White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer says the report will cover all aspects of the war on terrorism. He says it will review progress on the military front, the financial front, the diplomatic front and the law enforcement front.

President Bush said Wednesday his goals and objectives are being met.

///BUSH ACT///

One of the things I like to remind the enemy is: you (the terrorists) thought that you were going to change America when you hit us, you thought by your actions and by your attacks that somehow this nation was so soft that we didn't know how to respond. And they are paying a terrible price for their miscalculation.

///END ACT//

The president went on to say as a result of the war on terrorism, America is more united than ever.

///BUSH ACT TWO///

The other thing that the terrorists didn't understand was the strength of America. They didn't understand that. And the strength of America is our citizens.

///END ACT///

Mr. Bush spoke at a brief ceremony at the White House that highlighted the way people from different parts of the country have come together to help the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. He stood with dignitaries from the state of Louisiana before a state-of-the-art new fire truck - - a gift from the people of the state to the firefighters of New York City. (signed)
