Lockheed Martin Receives $12.7 Million Contract for MLRS Industrial Engineering Services

DALLAS, TX, October 2nd, 2001 -- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control has received a $12.7 million contract for Industrial Engineering Services (IES) for the MLRS M270 and M270A1 launcher systems for the United States, Germany, France, The United Kingdom, Italy, The Netherlands, Japan, Israel, Bahrain, Turkey, Greece, Norway, Denmark and the Republic of Korea. The contract provides technical support for countries using either of the two MLRS systems. The award is part of a $111 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. Work on the contract will be performed at the company's Dallas, Texas, facility and is expected to be completed in March 2004.

"This is an important contract because it allows Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control to continue to provide technical support services for our customers, both domestic and international," said Ron Abbott, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control vice president for Fire Support programs.

Employing more than 8,500 people, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with additional base operations in Orlando, Fla., and manufacturing and assembly facilities in Sunnyvale, Calif., Chelmsford, Mass., Camden, Ark., Horizon City and Lufkin, Texas, Ocala, Fla., White Sands Missile Range, N.M., and Troy, Ala. The company is a business unit of Lockheed Martin Systems Integration in Bethesda, Md.
