BAE SYSTEMS awarded $38 million contract for Radar support

Ft. Walton Beach, Florida: BAE Systems Technical Services, part of BAE Systems North America, was awarded a contract valued at $37,962,441 for continued support of the Instrumentation Radar Support Program (IRSP). The contract value is expected to exceed $90M, with six years of options and expected follow-on work. The IRSP contract supports a unique multiple agency, multi-service, and international program providing logistics and technical support for 156 instrumentation radar systems located on 28 test ranges worldwide. The 45th Contracting Squadron, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, is the contracting activity.
Support will be provided to each participant test range in the areas of program management, component repair, on-site overhaul and refurbishment, engineering and technical support, and system and subsystem upgrades. Support will be provided to U.S. national agencies including the U.S. Air Force, Army, and Navy, in addition to Department of Energy, the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, and the defense and space establishments of the United Kingdom, Germany, The Republic of Korea, and Taiwan.
BAE Systems has provided continuous support for the IRSP contract since 1985, having won subsequent re-competitions in 1990 and 1995.
The new contract will begin on October 1, 2001, and continue through September 30, 2007. BAE Systems Technical Services is an operating element of the BAE Systems Technologies Services Sector.
