
ELTA WINS US$ 60M CONTRACT FOR ESM/ELINT (ELECTRONIC SUPPORT MEASURES) SYSTEMS FOR THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE "WEDGETAIL" AEW AIRCRAFT

ELTA Electronics Industries Ltd., a subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries was selected to provide its advanced ESM/ELINT (Electronic Support Measures) systems for the Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) "Wedgetail" Airborne Early Warning and Command aircraft (AEW&C).
Ben-Gurion International Airport, 29 August 2001 - ELTA Electronics Industries Ltd., a subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries was selected to provide its advanced ESM/ELINT (Electronic Support Measures) systems for the Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) "Wedgetail" Airborne Early Warning and Command aircraft (AEW&C). The contract is valued at $60 Million.
ELTA's new generations of ESM/ELINT systems are state-of-the-art product, designed for tactical and strategical missions.
The ESM/ELINT System performs instantaneous 360 degrees surveillance and supports tracking of a variety of airborne and surface targets.
The decision to select the ELTA system was based on proven excellent performance and previous high satisfaction from the Royal Australian Air Force with similar systems provided by ELTA for its P-3C Maritime Patrol Fleet.
In this program, ELTA cooperates with local industry as a subcontractor to BAE SYSTEMS AUSTRALIA.
ELTA's ESM/ELINT systems were chosen, in addition to the Royal Australian Air Force P-3C fleet, for the United Kingdom's NIMROD 2000 Fleet.
Winning the ESM/ELINT program for the RAAF's AEW "Wedgetail" project, places ELTA as one of the leading companies in the field of providing high-end ESM/ELINT systems for the most demanding customers.
