ATK Missile Products Company to Become ATK Tactical Systems Company; Name Change Reflects Expanded Product Offering and Customer Base

ATK (Alliant Techsystems) (NYSE: ATK) said ATK Missile Products Company, Rocket Center, W.Va., will become ATK Tactical Systems Company effective Aug. 1.

The name change reflects the company's expanded product offering and customer base following the operational integration of Thiokol Propulsion Company's Elkton, Md.-based tactical propulsion operations into its business. ATK acquired Thiokol Propulsion in April 2001.

A leader in tactical and space propulsion, ATK Tactical Systems Company-Elkton Operations is a key supplier for Navy ballistic missile defense programs, and manufactures STAR™ motors for space payload placement. ATK Tactical Systems Company-Rocket Center Operations develops and produces a wide range of tactical propulsion, warhead, composite structures, and metal fabrication products for the U.S. Department of Defense. ATK Tactical Systems Company will be headquartered in Rocket Center.

ATK Tactical Systems Company is one of four operating companies within ATK's Aerospace Group, which comprises the corporation's propulsion and composite structures businesses. The other companies are ATK Aerospace Propulsion Company, Magna, Utah; ATK Aerospace Composite Structures Company, Clearfield, Utah; and ATK Thiokol Propulsion Company, Promontory, Utah, which comprises the space propulsion operations of Thiokol Propulsion Company.
