Israel Aircraft Industries/MLM Division Signed A New $16 Million Contract to Supply EHUD ACMI System To A Foreign Country
Paris Air Show, June 2001 - The MLM Division of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) has recently signed a new $16M contract to supply 'EHUD' Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI) System to a foreign customer. The customer will receive the latest and most advanced version of the system, which includes the latest generation pod and a PC-based debriefing ground station.
The EHUD AACMI system is the most advanced combat flight training system available today. EHUD offers a unique combination of rangeless, real-time training and debriefing capabilities plus safety warning. As a complete and fully independent Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) system, EHUD is effective for air-to-air, air-to-ground and EW training and debriefing, with a virtually unlimited number of participants. The system is conveniently packaged in an AIM-9 training missile shell, which can be easily moved from aircraft to aircraft.
Mr. Yair Ramati, IAI/MLM's General Manager, said that 'EHUD' is a GPS based, rangeless AACMI System, replacing expensive ground tracking stations and a large land area for the training range. The system records all flight maneuvers of the aircraft carrying the recording device which can then be replayed during the post mission debriefing session. It enables pilots to improve their air combat skills and try out new tactics in air combat maneuver'.
This contract follows two recent contracts, for the Royal Netherlands Air Force with CUBIC Systems of San Diego, California USA, as the prime contractor for the program, and the Belgian Air Force, in cooperation with BGT, a Company of DIEHL Corporation based in Uberlingen, Germany. In addition the Air Forces of Israel, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Thailand, UK RAF and NATO Air Flying School (TLP) have selected the EHUD ACCMI system.
New contracts registered by IAI/MLM Division for the EHUD ACCMI system from the beginning of 2001 reached a total of $30 million.
