IAI/TAMAM announces New Miniature Fiber Optic Gyro Based IMU (TRF-90M)
Jun 18, 2001
Paris Air Show, June 2001 - Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI)/Tamam Division adds a new member to the TRF-90 family of Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) based Inertial Measurement Units (IMU), the TRF-90M.
Tamam is using its unique 'open-loop' FOG for various applications. This FOG excels in high accuracy, small size, low weight and low power consumption. Tamam FOG is the base for the TRF-90 IMU family.
Each of these IMUs contains three FOGs, three Accelerometers and an Electronic Module.
In order to support the growing demand for a miniature, low cost IMU Tamam has developed the TRF-90M.
In the TRF-90M Micro Machined Accelerometers are used in an ingenious patented package, resulting the TRF-90M which is probably the smallest available FOG based IMU.
The small size (<0.35 Liter), low weight (<0.5 Kg), low power consumption (<6 watts), high shock endurance (>1,000 g), low bias drift error (<10 /hr), makes the TRF-90M the ideal solution for the flight control and navigation of Missiles, smart munitions, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), drones and for stabilization of Line Of Sight (LOS) and other platforms.
