BAE Systems has been awarded a contract with a ceiling value of $30.4 million by the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Centre in Charleston, South Carolina.
Under this contract BAE Systems Applied Technologies, part of BAE Systems North America, will provide engineering and technical support services and material to support the command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systems for amphibious warfare programs.
To support this effort, BAE Systems will provide engineering and technical services, including support of programme management, systems engineering, material management, configuration management, logistics support, and production. Support will include the operation of a turnkey integration facility, shipboard installation, shipyard support, training, and participation in the integrated product and process development process.
Work is expected to be completed by February 2005, and will be performed by the BAE Systems Applied Technologies office in Charleston, South Carolina, and other team members which include Anteon Corporation, Engineering Services Network, Gryphon Technologies, and Honeywell Technology Solutions.
"This award allows us to continue our more than 25 year history of providing surface combatant C4I systems integration, installation, and testing services to SPAWAR" said Bruce Hamilton, president, BAE Systems Applied Technologies. "We have been at the forefront of developing innovative solutions and processes to allow C4I technology insertion to occur as late in the shipbuilding process as possible, and work on this contract will allow us and our customer to push that effort even further."
