General Dynamics Awarded $8.27 Million Contract for Abrams Tank Support

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Defense Supply Center, Columbus, Ohio, has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $8,277,400 contract to supply repair parts on demand for M1A2 Abrams main battle tanks and the Wolverine Heavy Assault Bridge. The period of performance includes an initial three year base contract and four three year options.

"Our partnership with the DLA reflects our commitment to after-market growth by developing strategic alliances and partnerships," said Paul Funk, Land Systems vice president, Customer Service and Support. "Our focus on supply chain management and life cycle support initiatives will provide the best value support to the DLA and to our mutual customers - the soldiers of the U.S. Army."

Deliverables for the initial contract include 540 M1A2 Abrams, M1A2 SEP, and Wolverine unique mission critical parts. The effort also includes the management, replenishment, procurement, storage, and issue of contracted items from the Team Armor Partnership warehouse in Fort Hood, Texas.

Work will be performed with Land Systems’ employees at the Team Armor Partnership warehouse in Fort Hood, Texas (50%) and at Land Systems’ Sterling Heights Complex, Sterling Heights, Michigan (50%).
