
General Dynamics Awarded $8.7M Ammunition Contract
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – The Department of the Army - Headquarters, Operations System Command, Rock Island, Ill., has awarded an $8.7 million contract to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD). The contract calls for the production of 904,791 rounds of the 30mm PGU-15/B Target Practice (TP) Cartridge.
The PGU-15/B TP Cartridge is used by the U.S. Air Force in the GAU-8/A gun system on the A-10 combat aircraft. Work will be performed at the company’s Marion, Ill., facility and is expected to be completed by August 2002.
General Dynamics, headquartered in Falls Church, Va., employs approximately 46,000 people and anticipates 2001 sales of approximately $11.5 billion. The company has leading market positions in business aviation, information systems, shipbuilding and marine systems, and land and amphibious combat systems.
