- Sea Launch Delivers Satellite to Orbit for XM Satellite Radio Boeing 18 Mar 2001 -- A Sea Launch Zenit-3SL rocket today successfully lifted off from the Odyssey Launch Platform on the Equator at 2:33 p.m. PST, placing the XM-2 digital audio radio satellite into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) for XM Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: XMSR).
- THE BOEING-BUILT "ROCK" HAS LEFT EARTH Boeing 18 Mar 2001 -- XM-2, a Boeing 702 satellite -- designated "Rock" -- built for XM Satellite Radio, Inc. was successfully launched today on board Sea Launch platform at the Equator in the Pacific Ocean.
