- Boeing X-31 Takes Flight Again in New Multinational Program Boeing 05 Mar 2001 -- The X-31 thrust-vectoring aircraft, first used in the 1990s to successfully demonstrate enhanced combat maneuverability, has taken flight again in a new program called VECTOR, focused on demonstrating extremely short- takeoff-and-landing (ESTOL) capabilities.
- General Dynamics Receives $7M Contract to Perform Nuclear Work at Submarine Base General Dynamics 05 Mar 2001 -- The U. S. Navy has awarded Electric Boat a one-year, $7 million contract to manage and support nuclear-maintenance work for submarines homeported at Submarine Base New London, Connecticut. Electric Boat is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
