Israel Aircraft Industries/MLM Division Announced A New Order To Supply EHUD AACMI Training Systems to the Belgian Air Force
Feb 18, 2001
Israel Aircraft Industries/MLM Division announced that it was selected, in cooperation with BGT, a Company of DIEHL Corporation based in Germany, to supply the EHUD Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI) system to the Belgian Air Force.
The Belgian Air Force will purchase 20 EHUD pods and two advanced PC ground stations. The EHUD (known locally as Flight Profile Recorder or FPR system) is the most advanced combat flight training system available today. The contract is approximately $6 million.
The EHUD AACMI training system is in the service of many leading air forces around the world among them Israel, Germany, France, Italy, NATO's TLP and the UK RAF.
This contract further establishes the EHUD AACMI system and its unique data-link as standard system in European/NATO air combat training.
Mr. Yair Ramati, IAI/MLM's General Manager, said: "we are proud that the Belgian Air Force decided to join the extended family of EHUD users. This is an important step to achieve interoperability of air combat training among NATO countries".
EHUD Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (AACMI) offers a unique combination of rangeless, real-time training and debriefing capabilities plus safety warning. As a complete and fully independent Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) system, EHUD is effective for air-to-air, air-to-ground and EW training and debriefing, with a virtually unlimited number of participants. The system's sophisticated safety features include mid-air and ground collision warnings. The system is conveniently packaged in an AIM-9 training missile shell, which can be easily moved from aircraft to aircraft.
