- BAE SYSTEMS Delivers First Production Radar For Eurofighter BAE Systems 27 Feb 2001 -- BAE Systems has delivered the first production CAPTOR radar to the Eurofighter assembly plant at Warton in Lancashire. It is the first of 147 in the first tranche of production.
- Boeing Wins $150 Million Contract to Support U.S. Navy Aircraft "Top Gun" and Strike Training Centers Boeing 27 Feb 2001 -- The Boeing Company has been awarded a U.S. Navy contract to continue support for F/A-18 Hornet, F-14 Tomcat and SH-60 Seahawk aircraft at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, including those used by the renowned "Top Gun" school.
- Northrop Grumman to Study Advanced Targeting Concept Northrop Grumman 27 Feb 2001 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) will receive one of two contracts to develop an Affordable Moving Surface Target Engagement (AMSTE) capability.
- Northrop Grumman Receives Contract Exceeding $300 Million to Develop MESA Radar for Australian Wedgetail Program Northrop Grumman 27 Feb 2001 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector (ES3) has been awarded a contract by The Boeing Company for more than $300 million (U.S.) to provide its Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) radar for Australia's Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) program called Project Wedgetail.
- Northrop Grumman Refiles Hart-Scott-Rodino Notification Northrop Grumman 27 Feb 2001 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced that it voluntarily withdrew and refiled its Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) notification today with the appropriate government agencies to provide added time to complete the review of the company's pending acquisition of Litton Industries Inc. (NYSE: LIT).
- Lockheed Martin's Titan IV successfully launches next-generation military communications satellite for the U.S. Air Force Lockheed Martin 27 Feb 2001 -- A Titan IV B rocket roared into space today at 4:20 p.m. EST carrying a Milstar II military communications satellite into orbit for the U.S. Air Force. The launch vehicle and satellite were built by Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company at its operations in Denver, Colo., and Sunnyvale, Calif.
- ORBITAL SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHES SUBORBITAL ROCKET FOR U.S. ARMY'S THEATER MISSILE DEFENSE PROGRAM Orbital Sciences Corp. 27 Feb 2001 -- Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE: ORB) announced today that it successfully launched a suborbital rocket that collected optical and radar data for the U.S. Army's Theater Missile Defense (TMD) Critical Measurements Program (TCMP).
