
Spain's Santa Barbara to Manufacture Components for General Dynamics' Abrams Tank
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has reached an agreement in principle for Empresa Nacional Santa Barbara (ENSB) de Industrials Militares, S.A., of Madrid, Spain, to manufacture select components for the Abrams main battle tank. The Abrams tank is a product of General Dynamics Land Systems business unit. Production could begin in early 2001 and is expected to provide work for up to 50 people in ENSB’s factories in Oviedo and Trubia.
General Dynamics, headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, employs approximately 44,000 people and has annualized sales of approximately $10 billion. The company has leading market positions in business aviation, information systems, shipbuilding and marine systems, and land and amphibious combat systems.
