- ATK Awarded Contracts Totaling $11.5 Million to Produce Environmentally Friendly Artillery Propellant ATK 20 Dec 2000 -- ATK (NYSE: ATK) (Alliant Techsystems) said it has been awarded contracts with a combined value of $11.5 million from the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., to produce environmentally friendly propellant for the Army's Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS). Production under the contracts will continue through 2001.
- Boeing Completes First JSF X-32A Aerial Refueling Boeing 20 Dec 2000 -- The Boeing Joint Strike Fighter X-32A concept demonstrator aircraft yesterday successfully completed its first aerial refueling.
- Boeing Delivers Final AESA-Equipped F-15 Aircraft to U.S. Air Force Boeing 20 Dec 2000 -- The Boeing Company recently delivered to the U.S. Air Force the final three of 18 F-15C aircraft it refitted with Raytheon's APG-63(v)2 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, providing the Air Force the world's first operational fighter jets with the advanced-technology radar system.
- Lockheed Martin Receives $119.5 Million Contract for Multiple Launch Rocket System Launchers Lockheed Martin 20 Dec 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Dallas has received a Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP-4) contract for 66 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) M270A1 launchers.
- Bahrain Purchases Lockheed Martin's ATACMS Missiles Lockheed Martin 20 Dec 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Dallas has received a $20 million contract for 30 Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles for the nation of Bahrain. The foreign military sales (FMS) contract represents the first sale of ATACMS to Bahrain.
- Lockheed Martin Receives $8 Million Contract for High Mobility Artillery Rocket System for the U.S. Marines Lockheed Martin 20 Dec 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control - Dallas has been awarded an $8.1 million contract to produce two High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launchers for the United States Marine Corps Technology Demonstration program. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command is the contracting agency.

- Lockheed Martin-Built GE-8 Satellite Launched Successfully Lockheed Martin 20 Dec 2000 -- The GE-8 telecommunications satellite, designed and built by Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems (LMCSS) for GE American Communications (GE Americom), was launched successfully Tuesday evening from Kourou, French Guiana. Lift-off occurred at 4:26 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) aboard an Ariane 5 launch vehicle provided by Arianespace of Evry, France.
