INTRO: Palestinian gunmen have shot and killed three Israelis and wounded eight in the West Bank. The violence came on the same day as Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. As Correspondent Meredith Buel reports from Jerusalem, more than 200-people, most of them Palestinian, have been killed since clashes began in late September.

TEXT: In two apparently simultaneous ambushes, Palestinian gunmen killed the Israelis near a Jewish settlement close to the West Bank town of Ramallah.

In one shooting a woman motorist was killed. Two Israelis died in the second attack.

Israeli security forces have sealed off the area and are searching for the gunmen.

In Khan Yunis, a frequent flashpoint in the southern Gaza Strip, at least two Palestinian teenagers were killed during clashes with Israeli soldiers.

There have been a dwindling number of mass riots, but an increase in Palestinian gunfire on Israeli positions during the past few days. An Israeli government spokesman (Moshe Fogel) says the conflict is no longer a civil uprising, but - warfare and terrorism. (SIGNED)
