INTRO: In Jerusalem, police say a small blast in a Muslim cemetery outside the walls of the Old City Friday morning injured one policeman. No group has claimed responsibility. Correspondent Laurie Kassman reports from Jerusalem.

TEXT: Israeli police say the explosion has lightly wounded one policeman in east Jerusalem. The area has been cordoned off. Police suspect a remote-controlled device set off the blast, which a spokesman says was a deliberate anti-Israeli attack.

The explosion comes one day after an Israeli combat helicopter killed a military activist of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement. Israeli military chiefs describe the 34-year-old as a mastermind of several terrorist attacks against Israeli communities.

The Fatah Movement has vowed revenge.

Security around Jerusalem's Old City is especially tight for Friday prayers at Al Aqsa Mosque. Police have banned Muslim men under the age of 45 from entering the area in a bid to prevent violent protests there. Radical groups have called for Fridays to be a day of rage against Israeli occupation. (Signed)
