General Dynamics American Overseas Marine Wins $25 Million Operations and Maintenance Contract

FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics American Overseas Marine (AMSEA) a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), was recently awarded a $24.8 million contract to operate and maintain a U.S. government-owned Maritime Prepositioning Force ship. Work will be performed in Diego Garcia and is scheduled for completion by December 2005.

The contract brings to 23 the number of ships that AMSEA maintains and operates for the U.S. government. AMSEA is based in Quincy, Massachusetts, and employs approximately 400 people.

General Dynamics, headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia, employs approximately 44,000 people worldwide and has annualized sales of approximately $10 billion. The company has leading market positions in business aviation, information systems, shipbuilding and marine systems, and land and amphibious combat systems.
