
Lockheed Martin Awarded $64 Million Information Technology Management Contract for U.S. Navy
OWEGO, NY, September 26th, 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Systems Integration - Owego has been awarded a nearly $64 million five-year contract to provide a variety of logistics information management support services at 12 sites for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). The company's Systems Solutions unit will assume the performance and management of multiple NAVAIR contracts, providing a coordinated effort between Lockheed Martin systems integration experts and various subcontractors who will provide operations and maintenance support. NAVAIR, headquartered in Patuxent River, Md., develops, acquires and supports naval aeronautical and related technology systems. Lockheed Martin will support information technology systems for logistics, maintenance and procurement of major aircraft weapons systems for the Navy, including life cycle support of the Naval Aviation Logistics Data Analysis Integrated Data Environment (NALDA IDE).
Contracted services include functional support, program management, operations and maintenance, systems administration, data administration, web support, telecommunications and quality assurance. Lockheed Martin has a proven track record for seamless management of multiple subcontractors, and will be supported by subcontractors like Dynamics Research Corporation and BAE Systems. Aviation logistics support for aircraft and weapons is critical for maintaining the readiness of today's naval warfighters.

This rating exceeds the SEI Level 3 rating required by NAVAIR for this contract.
