CACI Awarded $27.2 Million Army Training Models Contract
Evolving Software Development Support Includes Web-enabling Legacy Applications
Arlington, Va., September 18, 2000 -- CACI International Inc (NASDAQ:CACI) announced today that it has won a $27.2 million contract to provide analytical and software development support for the U.S. Army Training Models (ATM) project. The delivery order/contract, awarded by Defense Supply Services, Washington, through CACI's General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology Schedule, includes a one-year base period with four option years.
The ATM contract supports the Army's Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Planning (ODCSOPS) in its mission to estimate the cost of training and operations for the Army. This support is a total Army solution, representing the Active Army, the Army Reserves, and the Army National Guard. To this end, the ODCSOPS maintains a set of four integrated software applications that are used to calculate training resource requirements necessary to achieve Army training objectives. Designed, developed, and maintained by CACI, these applications are collectively known as the Army Training Models. The ATM relates dollars to readiness by linking costs to the execution of approved training strategies. The applications also provide decision support tools that allow the Army to assess the resource impact of multiple financial and logistical policy decisions on the cost of maintaining readiness objectives for Army operating commands.
With the new contract, CACI will maintain its development of all ATM applications, including their continuous technical evolution using web-based technology that improves productivity and user access. Moreover, since CACI's ATM software development team has been certified by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) as operating at Level 3 of the SEI's Capability Maturity Model®, the Army is assured of high-quality software development at minimal risk.
According to Ken Johnson, President of CACI, Inc., "CACI understands that today's Army must be ready to react with less warning and fewer resources than ever before, to a widening variety of both wartime and peacetime missions. We offer a responsive and results-oriented project team, with SEI Level 3-approved software development and leading web technology solutions, to partner with the Army Training Models program as it reviews these competing demands and decides on future training and operational requirements."
CACI Chairman and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London said, "CACI is pleased to continue our support of the Army's Training Models and reaffirm our commitment to our Army clients. We are also proud of our record with the Army Training Models project, which we believe is among our industry's best."
