Lockheed Martin Receives $70.5 Million for Egyptian LANTIRN Pods

FARNBOROUGH, UK and ORLANDO, FL, July 25th, 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control-Orlando received a LANTIRN delivery order for 15 Targeting Pods and 15 Navigation pods and associated spares and support under the LANTIRN Requirements Contract. This $70.5M order for the Egyptian Air Force will be augmented with a Contract Change Proposal (CCP) for additional pod spares, Country Standard Tech Orders (CSTOs), and Operational-Level (O-Level) Support Equipment.

"This contract represents the third order from a valued customer and enhances the Egyptian Air Force's expanded F-16 fleet," says Barry Campbell, Missiles and Fire Control Regional Manager for LANTIRN - Middle East.

LANTIRN (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night) allows aircrews to operate worldwide in daylight or darkness at all mission altitudes to meet the requirements for precision attack of surface targets. As the backbone of precision attack, LANTIRN is a combat-proven force multiplier that provides a spectrum of capabilities to the US Air Force, the US Navy, and the air forces of thirteen allied nations.
