
Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems Announces New Leadership Team, Realigns Business Units
BALTIMORE, MD, June 26th, 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems (NE&SS) announced today changes to its leadership team and a realignment of some program and business activities to better support NE&SS' diverse set of domestic and international customers. In making the announcement, NE&SS President Joseph D. Antinucci said the changes are designed to "advance further our concept of integration, sharpen our lines-of-business focus, and improve our overall competitive position in the marketplace." With the new leadership team and refined business charters in place, he said, "NE&SS now is better positioned to serve its markets as an integrated organization.
"Each of these leaders possesses strong business and technical credentials and has demonstrated the level of energy and commitment that is essential to the success of the NE&SS team," Antinucci said. "With this team and the definition of specific program areas, we have established clear lines of authority that will provide clear strategic direction and ensure strong program performance."
Effective July 1, 2000, the NE&SS leadership team consists of:
Fred P. Moosally, President, Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Surface Systems, headquartered in Moorestown, New Jersey. Previously, Moosally was Vice President & General Manger of the NE&SS operation in Moorestown.
NE&SS-Surface Systems is responsible for programs and activities that involve Lockheed Martin's surface ship business, including activity involving the U.S. Navy's Aegis program, international surface ship programs, aircraft carrier opportunities, and radar embedded in surface combat systems. The Advanced Technology Laboratories in Camden, New Jersey, and MicroElectronics Center in Moorestown will report to the Surface Systems business.
Frank M. DeBritz, President, Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Undersea Systems, headquartered in Manassas, Virginia. Previously, DeBritz was Senior Vice President, Ocean Systems, for the NE&SS operation in Syracuse, New York. NE&SS-Undersea Systems is responsible for programs and activities that involve Lockheed Martin's undersea systems business, including submarine combat and electronic warfare systems, antisubmarine warfare, minehunting, and undersea sensing and surveillance. Programs engaged in these activities in Syracuse, New York; and operations in Mitchel Field, New York; Irvine, California; Riviera Beach, Florida; and Sunnyvale, California; will report to Undersea Systems in Manassas.
John O'Neill is appointed deputy to the President, Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Undersea Systems, in addition to retaining his current duties as Vice President, Warfare Systems, in the Manassas operation.
Michael A. Smith, President, Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Radar Systems, headquartered in Syracuse, New York. Previously, Smith was President of the NE&SS operation in Syracuse. Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Radar Systems is responsible for radar programs in Syracuse, land-based radar programs in Moorestown, vessel traffic management systems in Syracuse, and the Lockheed Martin operations in Akron, Ohio, including tactical aircraft simulation and training systems, antisubmarine weapons systems, and lighter-than-air platforms. The Lockheed Martin operation in Archbald, Pennsylvania, also will report to Radar Systems.
John C. McNellis, President, Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Tactical Systems, headquartered in Eagan, Minnesota. Previously, McNellis was Executive Vice President for Lockheed Martin Information Systems in Orlando, Florida. Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Tactical Systems is responsible for programs and activities involving Lockheed Martin's tactical C3I systems business, including maritime surveillance aircraft systems, air defense systems, and display systems. The Lockheed Martin operation in Clearwater, Florida, will report to Tactical Systems.
Dale P. Bennett, Vice President and General Manager, Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Marine Systems, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland. Lockheed Martin NE&SS-Marine Systems will have responsibility for all launching systems business and all advanced hull technology programs. The operations in Sunnyvale, California, that are responsible for work on advanced hull technology, will report to Baltimore.
Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems, headquartered in Baltimore, provides surface ship and submarine combat systems, antisubmarine warfare and ocean surveillance systems, missile launching systems, radar and sensor systems, ship systems integration and systems engineering services, and other advanced systems and services to customers worldwide. NE&SS is the largest business organization in the Lockheed Martin Systems Integration business area.
