Lockheed Martin Highlights Navy Partnership At Sea-Air-Space 2000

WASHINGTON, DC, April 18th, 2000 -- Advanced systems and technology solutions to the complex naval warfare requirements of the 21st Century will be highlighted by Lockheed Martin Corporation during the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space 2000 Exposition April 18-20 in Washington, DC. "As a leading industrial partner and systems integrator for the U.S. Navy, Lockheed Martin is committed to developing, delivering and supporting products and services that contribute to the Navy's combat readiness and its ability to maintain freedom of the seas, deter aggression and win wars," said Robert B. Coutts, Executive Vice President of the Corporation's Systems Integration business area.

Each of the Corporation's four principal business areas - aeronautics, space, systems integration and technology services - is represented at Sea-Air-Space 2000, showcasing products and capabilities ranging from the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) and the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) to total ship systems integration services and command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems that support information superiority and interconnectivity.

In addition to its own corporate exhibit at Booth 1602, Hall A, Lockheed Martin is represented as an industrial partner in the Navy's Theater Ballistic Missile Defense exhibit and the as a team member in the DD-21 Blue Team exhibit. The latter will be linked to Lockheed Martin's exhibit to support interactive demonstrations of naval air and missile defense capabilities.

"The multiple Lockheed Martin businesses supporting the DD-21 Blue Team and engaged in our role as systems integrator for the U.S. Navy's next aircraft carrier, the CVN-77, are indicative of the extensive capabilities our Corporation can apply to customer needs," Coutts said. "Moreover, independently certified credentials - such as having more high-level Software Engineering Institute capability assessments than any other company in the world - document the competencies Lockheed Martin applies to the systems integration challenges of our core aerospace and defense customers."

Other Lockheed Martin demonstrations at Sea-Air-Space 2000 include the AN/UYQ-70 advanced workstation, which incorporates commercial off-the-shelf/open systems architecture (COTS/OSA) equipment supporting essential ship functions in a robust ruggedized cabinet; and communications capabilities that support the current Navy-Marine Corps Internet (NMCI) requirement.

Company executives will be available during the show to brief news media representatives on programs, capabilities and initiatives including total ship systems integration; naval munitions; the Advanced Gun System; JASSM; C4I and system interoperability, including the Area Air Defense Commander (AADC) function; interactive media solutions for training and other requirements; the AN/WLD-1(V)1 Remote Minehunting System; the AN/SLY-2 Advanced Integrated Electronic Warfare System (AIEWS); and antisubmarine warfare (ASW) mission support, including maritime patrol aircraft upgrades.
