CACI Awarded Subcontract With TRW to Support Air Force Design Engineering Support Program
Company to Support Air Force Weapon Systems
Arlington, Va., February 23, 2000 -- CACI International Inc (NASDAQ: CACI) announced today that it has been awarded a subcontract by TRW (NYSE: TRW) of Cleveland, Ohio, on that company’s prime contract to support the Air Force Materiel Command’s (AFMC) Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. The indefinite delivery/indefinite (ID/IQ) quantity Design Engineering Support Program (DESP) contract, which has a total contract ceiling of $450 million, includes a five-year ordering period with a maximum seven-year performance period. CACI estimates that its revenues for this contract will be approximately $45 million. The company expects to perform work on-site at Ogden as well as at CACI’s offices in San Antonio, Texas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Warner Robins, Georgia; and Dayton, Ohio.
The Ogden Air Logistics Center provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program, the U.S. space program, and many other Air Force weapon systems. Initiated and managed by the Ogden Air Logistics Center, the DESP is intended to provide design and engineering support services for all AFMC weapon systems, components, and support equipment, including engineering design, system modifications, maintenance, repair, and supportive operations/processes.
CACI’s scope of work includes providing both logistics and technology support to the AFMC as it carries out its mission to research, develop, test, acquire, and support all Air Force weapon systems, components, and other support equipment and systems. CACI taskings are expected to include depot workload planning; weapons systems, subsystems, and support hardware and software engineering; logistics support; acquisition support; and information technology disciplines.
CACI has a positive legacy of providing high-caliber engineering and technology services to support Air Force and AFMC weapons systems, components, and support equipment, including providing similar support to the Air Force’s Technology Task Order Engineering Services II (TTOES II) contract. CACI’s overall focus for DESP will be on inserting proven technologies and methods to enhance current operational support, maintenance, and repair processes, extending the life of existing systems and reducing lifecycle costs. This technical support also includes the development of software to test systems and the reengineering of systems and components for new technology environments.
"CACI provides demonstrated expertise in supporting Air Force weapon systems and related programs," stated CACI, Inc. President Ken Johnson," and we reinforce this with logistics and technology solutions that deliver the means to support the Ogden Air Logistics Center in its goal of improving the performance, survivability, and supportability of Air Force systems and equipment."
Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Chairman and CEO, commented, "The Design Engineering Support Program award recognizes CACI’s commitment to being one of the top logistics and engineering contractors in the country. This has been a steady line of business for CACI for many years, and remains a core business area that forms part of our foundation for continuing expansion into the 21st century."
