
Lockheed Martin Awarded $43.8 Million Contract To Support Defense Civilian Personnel Management Service
OWEGO, NY, February 22nd, 2000 -- Lockheed Martin Federal Systems has received an order valued at $43.8 million over three years to deploy, operate and sustain the modern Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) for the Department of Defense Civilian Personnel Management Service (CPMS). CPMS will use the new system to process personnel transactions and maintain records on more than 800,000 Department of Defense civilian employees. This delivery order was placed under the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Defense Systems Engineering Technical Services (DSETS) contract previously awarded to Lockheed Martin Federal Systems. Lockheed Martin's responsibilities under the DCPDS order will include systems integration and deployment, program management, application sustainment, plus technology infusion functions and maintenance of the system. Teammates on the personnel data system project include:
- Lockheed Martin Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), Orlando, Fla. and Denver, Colo., supporting centralized system and network management, continuous help desk functions, backup services and hosting the Corporate Management Information System (CMIS) located in the Denver Data Center, which serves as the primary database for aggregate information on DoD agencies and their individual service components;
- Oracle Federal Consulting, with a support team in Lockheed Martin's new San Antonio office, providing application sustainment and maintenance, deployment support and help desk functions for the Oracle Human Resources and RESUMIX® application packages. Lockheed Martin recently opened the San Antonio office as part of its commitment to support the CPMS.
- Decision Systems Technologies, Inc. (DSTI), Dayton, Ohio, providing remote site deployments and on-site system administrators for Regional Service Centers (RSC), or their equivalent, including RSCs located outside the continental United States in Alaska, Hawaii, South Korea, United Kingdom, and Germany.

The base, five-year DSETS contract was awarded in 1997. It is a multiple-contract procurement vehicle designed to provide a broad range of information technology support services to the DLA Systems Design Centers (DSDC) and other government agencies. Through the DLA DSETS program, customers have a flexible means of meeting information technology needs quickly, efficiently and cost effectively. This Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract allows both firm, fixed price and time-and-materials delivery order types.
