CACI Providing Java-based E-Commerce Technologies to Large-Scale Paperless Invoicing for DoD

Arlington, Va., September 21, 1999 -- CACI International Inc (NASDAQ:CACI) today announced that its forms-based Web solution for electronic invoicing meets requirements for initial operational capability as a key component of the Department of Defense (DoD) Wide Area Workflow Receipt and Acceptance application (WAWF-RA).

WAWF-RA allows federal government contractors and authorized DoD personnel to use the World Wide Web to generate, capture, and process invoice, acceptance, and payment-related documentation and data.

To accomplish this, CACI’s solution provides the critical, leading-edge technology for the development of the necessary World Wide Web applications, resulting in significant savings in time and effort for invoicing and invoice processing, in a totally electronic, completely paperless environment.

Currently, WAWF-RA is the only system to achieve paperless contracting in receipts and acceptance and assists the Defense Finance and Accounting Service’s Web Invoice System (WInS) to achieve paperless contracting for invoices. When fully implemented, WAWF-RA will provide a single point to submit and process invoices and acceptance documents.

Vital to the project’s current success is CACI’s expertise in developing server-side Java applications and incorporating UWI.Com’s InternetForms® and digital signature technologies in Web applications. CACI integrated Java servlet-driven applications and compression techniques to enhance both speed and security while providing an intuitive, user-friendly graphical user interface for data entry, display, and transport. As a result, contractors can submit invoices and acceptance reports electronically using familiar business formats without significant cost or change to existing paper-based processes. Government personnel can complete the receipt, acceptance, and payment process in a totally paperless environment. The information contained in each electronic transaction can be protected and assured by applying digital signatures at each step. A secure, electronic environment for invoice processing and payment can potentially reduce the invoice-presentation-to-invoice-payment window by as much as 90%.

Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Chairman and CEO, said, "CACI is pleased with this opportunity to provide state-of-the-art e-commerce assistance to DoD’s Paperless Contracting initiative. We’re confident that Wide Area Workflow will provide significant savings in time, effort, and money for government and contractors alike. CACI’s participation in this important project is another step in our ongoing program of initiatives to expand our e-commerce solutions for public and private sector clients."
