- 50th Boeing C-17 Globemaster III Delivered to U.S. Air Force Boeing 21 May 1999 -- The U.S. Air Force accepted its 50th Boeing C-17 Globemaster III cargo aircraft in a brief ceremony here this morning. Lt. Gen. Gregory ("Speedy") Martin, principal deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Headquarters, U.S. Air Force, was at the controls as the aircraft took off for Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.
- Comanche Program, U.S. Army Sign MOU on Pre-Production Program Boeing 21 May 1999 -- The Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche Joint Program Office and the U.S. Army have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that defines the Comanche program's engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) phase and establishes an innovative working partnership between the Army and the contracting team.
