- Boeing Delivers Second Production Super Hornet to U.S. Navy Boeing 03 Mar 1999 -- The Boeing Company has delivered its second production model F/A-18E/F Super Hornet to the U.S. Navy as scheduled. The aircraft ferried from Lambert International Airport in St. Louis to Naval Air Station China Lake, Calif., in February.
- GE Marine Engines To Supply MTU With Three LM2500 Gas Turbines For Germany's F124 Frigates GE Marine 03 Mar 1999 -- GE Marine Engines reported it will supply Motoren- und Turbinen-Union (MTU), Friedrichshafen, Germany, with three LM2500 aeroderivative gas turbines to power three German Navy Sachsen-class F124 frigates. This marks the first time the LM2500 will be applied in a combined diesel and gas turbine (CODAG) configuration for naval service.
