The US Government, through the combined efforts of the Departments of State, Defense and US Africa Command, assists the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) in their commitment to improve regional peace and stability. This included training Ugandan forces that would be deployed to support the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and those deployed in support of operations to counter the Lord's Resistance Army.
US forces conducting security cooperation missions in Uganda operated from Camp Singo, also known as the Singo Training Area. On 21 December 2012, a solictation was issued for in order to support vehicle maintenance training at Camp Singo, Uganda. The US Government required Maintenance Tents to support that mission and the contract was for the purchase of maintenance tents, and rental of generators with a base 3-month period with 2 3-month options. Generators would be required to be leased, fueled, and maintained by the selected contractor from 1 February 2013 until 30 March 2013. Both maintenance tents would accommodate a maximum vehicle size of length 314.9 inches, width 98 inches, and height 141.2 inches, with additional space for a work area. Total tent size with work areas would be, at least, 45 feet in length, 24 feet in width, and 18 feet in height.
