Coyote Station

Brown and Root Service Corporation (BRSC) operated a tank farm about half an hour from Comanche Base at Lukavac. Coyote Station had a large supply of JP-8 and often provided support when additional fuel was needed. BRSC and Division G-4 decided to draw down JP-8 stockage. The problem that arose was that this was enacted during a time when MSRs were often on a red or black status. This made it impossible to get a convoy on the road. Class III resupply was not coming from the contractor nor was it being drawn from Coyote Station. The aircraft were still flying and the Class III supply began to run low. The lesson learned here is that if fuel is going to be drawn down, the plan must be decimated down to the support battalions with enough time to react and adjust for inclement weather.
