621st Air Mobility Operations Squadron [621st AMOS]

The 621st AMOS deploys worldwide to manage air mobility operations within a theater as a forward extension of the USTRASNCOM's tanker/airlift command and control system.

The mission of the 621st AMOS is to deploy a highly trained and equipped core of air mobility experts to rapidly establish and sustain multi-functional teams to direct theatrewide air mobility operations.

The 621st Air Mobility Operations Squadron, which simply put, is AMC deployed and provides a direct link to the AMC commander and the Army customer with the assistance of Theater Airlift Liaison Officers who are often forward deployed in a contingency. The AMOS provides two unique capabilities to AMC's global reach laydown, and those are a forward extension of the Tanker Airlift Control Center in the form of the Air Mobility Element and being able to provide communications packages to support the Expeditionary Air Force.

The AMOS sends out teams to carry a full sweep of electronic computers and equipment to connect back with the TACC and electronically transfer information on aircraft missions, personnel and equipment being transferred through the air mobility system. The services provided out in the field give the theater commander or war fighter the seamless air mobility they want between strategic and theater airlift. Thus ensuring up to the minute information on the movement of passengers and cargo required, to fight or support a humanitarian, strike or war effort. The TALO assigned to the AMOS provide a bridge between the Army and the Air Force so they can communicate better.
