53rd Combat Communications Squadron [53rd CBCS]
[Note: Combat Communications Squadrons[CBCS] are sometimes incorrectly referred to using the acronym CCS]
The 53rd Combat Communications Squadron provides combat-ready forces that directly support the Commanders-in-Chief of unified commands, joint task forces and combatant commanders with command and control communications and information, as well as air traffic services during wartime and contingency operations.
In addition, they provide support to Joint Chiefs of Staff-directed worldwide humanitarian missions. The squadron is comprised of 136 people wo operate and maintain $32 million of equipment and execute a $500,000 annual budget.
