455th Expeditionary Operations Group

The 455th Expeditionary Operations Group is responsible for all expeditionary flying and aeromedical evacuation operations for the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing. The group oversees the day-to-day operations of one close air support squadron (492nd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron), one airlift squadron (774th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron), one rescue squadron (56th Expeditionary Rescue Squadron), one aeromedical evacuation squadron (455th Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Flight), an airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance squadron (4th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron), and a rotating tactical electronic warfare squadron provided by either the US Navy or the US Marine Corps. The 455th Expeditionary Operations Group also has administrative control over an electronic combat squadron (41st Expeditionary Electronic Combat Squadron). In addition, the operations group oversees a range of support functions such as airfield management and operations for both Bagram and Kabul, air traffic control, intelligence, weather and a medical clinic that serves the wing.
