335th Training Squadron [335th TRS]
The 335th Training Squadron, known as "Da Bulls," is one of the most diverse training squadrons in the Air Education and Training Command. The unit manages training for more than 60 courses in 15 Air Force specialties. On an average, the squadron conducts resident or mobile training for more than 6,000 students annually.
In addition to two academic training flights and a military training flight, they manage training at two geographically separated units. The Weather Flight provides instruction to officers and enlisted members from each branch of the military as well as from other countries. Courses deal with weather observing, weather analysis and forecasting, tropical weather analysis and forecasting, weather satellite imagery interpretation, Doppler weather radar operation and interpretation weather effects on electro-optics weapon systems, and Automated Weather Distribution System operations.
The Manpower and Personnel Flight provides a wide spectrum of training to Air Force officers and enlisted members, as well as all ranks from services of many countries. Courses deal with manpower management, military personnel, personnel systems management, and manpower personnel wartime contingency.
The Military Training Flight is responsible for continued military development and housing of more than 1,000 non-prior service students with an average daily student load of approximately 400 at any one time.
Rounding out the squadron training are two geographically separated units. Detachment 3, at Ft. Jackson, SC, is responsible for military training and housing of nonprior-service Air Force, Navy, Marine and Coast Guard students, attending the DOD Postal School. Ft. George Meade, MD, is the home to Detachment 4, responsible for continued military training and housing of Air Force nonprior-service students attending the Defense Information School.
