334th Training Squadron [334th TRS]

The 334th Training Squadron provides training in all aspects of ground based aerospace command and control. Courses are taught in Air Traffic Control, Combat Control, Airfield Management, Operations Resource Management, Aerospace Control and Warning, Command Post Operations, and Tactical Air Command and Control.

The mission of the 334th Training Squadron is to supply the Air Force with well-trained, pro-fessional airmen capable of controlling the battlespace in support of the full spectrum of military operations. State-of-the-art training and technology fully prepare graduates for operational assignments.

Realistic training using air traffic and radar approach control simulators challenges both officer and enlisted students in the Air Traffic Control Training Flight by creating realistic airfield environments.

The Airfield Operations Training Flight utilizes computer based training and current operational software to prepare airfield operations personnel to operate and manage airfields. Operations Resource Management students are taught to manage the intricate details of operational aircrew training.

Supplemental courses in Terminal Instrument Approach Procedures and Airspace Management are also taught. The Command and Control Training Flight utilizes command post mockups and state of the art Modular Control Equipment to train personnel in Command Post Operations and Aerospace Control and Warning System operation.

Mobile training teams teach courses in Status of Resources and Training Systems reporting as well as Command and Control Information Processing Systems Operations to personnel stationed worldwide. A detachment at Hurlburt Field, FL, trains airmen for duty as tactical air command and control specialists. These airmen work with forward air controllers and air liaison officers to provide the U.S. Army with tactical air support.
