315th Training Squadron [315th TRS]

The mission of the 315th Training Squadron is to train the world's best Intelligence Operators to support worldwide warfighting operations.

The 315th TRS is responsible for training over 2,100 Air Force officer, enlisted, and Marine Corps students annually. Training provided includes collection, analysis, and application of all-source intelligence to support combat operations.

The 315th Training Squadron is the Department of Defense Executive Agent for advanced sensor training for all services and national intelligence agencies. The squadron is also responsible for training foreign officers in imagery and applications intelligence.

In addition to providing intricate intelligence training, the 315th also maintains highly sophisticated training systems and manages an annual budget in excess of $17.32 million.

The 315th Training Suqadron was originally activated as the 3490th Technical Training Group on 1 January 1987 and assigned to the 3480th Technical Training Wing at Goodfellow AFB, TX.

It was redesignated as the 3490th Technical Training Squadron on 1 February 1992 and reassigned to the assigned to 3480th Technical Training Group

Redesignated as 315th Technical Training Squadron on 15 September 1992, the unit was reassigned to the 391st Technical Training Group (redesignated from 3480th Technical Training Group) and, on 1 July 1993, reassigned to the 17th Technical Training Group (redesignated from 391st Technical Training Group).

The 315th was redesignated as the 315th Training Squadron on 1 April 1994 and reassigned to the 17th Training Group (redesignated from 17th Technical Training Group).
