314th Training Squadron [314th TRS]
The mission of the 314th Training Suqadron is to develop the best Signals Intelligence and Computer Maintenance Professionals for the Department of Defense.
The unit is tasked with training Signals Intelligence Production Apprentices and Advanced Computer Maintenance Journeymen. The squadron oversees operations and administration of 200 staff and students, a $4.3 million dormitory and administrative office complex, and an annual flow of more than 400 students.
The 314th Training Squadron was originally activated as the 3485th School Squadron on 1 October 1986 and assigned to the 3480th Student Group stationed at Fort Devens, MA.
It was redesignated as the 3485th Technical Training Squadron, on 1 February 1992 and reassigned to the 3480th Technical Training Group upon the inactivation of the 3480th Student Group.
Redesignated as the 314th Technical Training Squadron on 15 September 1992, it was reassigned to the 391st Technical Training Group (redesignated from 3480th Technical Training Group) and relocated to Fort Huachuca, AZ, on 15 January 1993. It was reassigned to the 17th Technical Training Group (redesignated from 391st Technical Training Group) on 1 July 1993. Redesignated as the 314th Training Squadron on 1 April 1994, the 314th was reassigned to 17th Training Group (redesignated from 17th Technical Training Group).
