11th Air Support Operations Squadron [11th ASOS]
The 11th Air Support Operations Squadron is responsible for supporting the 4th Infantry Division (ID) and all it's subordinate brigades in many facets of their mission to include National Training Center rotation support and Joint Air Attack Team training.
In addition, the unit is prepared to deploy in support of 4 ID worldwide taskings and contingencies.
The 11th ASOS' primary responsibility is to provide Tactical Air Control Parties in support of military contingencies worldwide. Day-to-day missions encompass providing Close Air Support (CAS) expertise to 4 ID, implementing the 11th ASOS goals and STRATPLAN, overseeing the squadron's training and stan/eval programs and maintaining currency in all facets of the career field. Other missions include providing initial/upgrade training for every squadron member and providing support to the families of TDY personnel.
The 11th ASOS is composed of 68 officers, non-commissioned officers, and airmen in the performance of Air Liaison Duties with the United States Army and control of Air Force combat aircraft in coordination with United States Army elements.
