There are seven paramilitary forces in Pakistan, including Frontier Corps (NWFP), Frontier Corps (Balochistan), Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Pakistan Coast Guards, Northern Area Scouts and Frontier Constabulary NWFP. The enrolment in FC NWFP is carried out purely from tribes residing in NWFP, FATA and Mianwali only. Civil Armed Forces viz Pakistan Rangers, Frontier Corps and Pakistan Coast Guards are the field organizations of the Ministry of Interior.

1. Frontier Corps, North Western Frontier Province (NWFP), Peshawar. Anti-smuggling measures, maintenance of law & order and drug control along the borders with Afghanistan and in the federally administered tribal areas of NWFP.
2. Frontier Corps (Balochistan), Quetta. Anti- smuggling measures, maintenance of law & order and drug control along Balochistan border.
3. Pakistan Rangers, Lahore. To secure/check border crossing on Indo-Pak border into the Punjab province and to assist the Provincial Government of Punjab in maintaining law & order.
4. Pakistan Rangers, Karachi. To secure/check border crossing on Indo-Pak border into Sindh province and to assist Provincial Government of Sindh in maintaining law & order.
5. Pakistan Coast Guards, Karachi. To secure sea coast, prevent smuggling, entry of illegal immigrants and enemy agents/saboteurs.
6. Immigration & Passports, Islamabad. Issuance of passports, grant of visa.
7. ICT, Islamabad. Administration of federal capital area of Islamabad including Islamabad Police.
8. F.I.A To investigate economic crimes, banking offences, enforcement of immigration and exit control(ECL).
9. Civil Defence, Islamabad. Matters relating to Civil Defence training.
10. Central Jail Staff Training Institute, Lahore.(Subordinate Office) To impart training to jail staff/officers of prisons.
11. Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad.(Autonomous Body) Matters relating to the development/maintenance of Islamabad.
12. National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) (Autonomous Body) i) Issue National Identity Cards

ii) Collect, collate and disseminate data regarding Pakistani citizens;

iii) Maintain and update central data bank of national database;

iv) Provide requisition access into national data to all Government, semi-Government and private agencies.

v) Establish necessary liaison with Provincial governments.

13. National Police Academy, Islamabad (Autonomous body). To impart training to PSP officers.
14. National Alien Registration Authority (Autonomous Body) a) Register all foreigners in Pakistan

b) Issue work permits to those seeking employment or running own business. The Authority shall charge one thousand rupees as registration fee and five thousand rupees for work permit.

15. National Police Foundation, Islamabad (Trust). Welfare measures and projects for the Police.
