Integrated Database [IDB]

The Integrated Database [IDB] was the primary DIA intelligence database providing integrated data on foreign military organizations worldwide. The IDB data and structure supersedes the Defense Intelligence Order of Battle System (DIOBS), the Automated Intelligence Installation File (AIIF), and the Defense Intelligence Equipment Index (DIEQP).

The US Department of Defense Integrated Intelligence System (DODIIS) standardized on Sybase as the RDBMS for the Integrated Database (IDB). The IDB is transitioning to the MIDB migration system. The DoD is in the process of establishing a simplified baseline of the best, common information systems across the business functions of the Department. These migration systems represent a stage of process improvement designed at achieving a common set of automated processes and practices in DoD.

MIDB is migrating away from a mainframe environment as Version 1.0 was fielded, and the IDB mainframe was shutdown with the release of Version 2.0.
