Chinese FM slams Australian spy chief for deliberately stirring up confrontation

In response to accusations from the head of Australian intelligence alleging that Chinese government-supported hackers broke into Australian communications and infrastructure networks, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told Wednesday's press conference that "The Australian official you mentioned has repeatedly made statements smearing China, spreading false narratives, and deliberately stirring up confrontation since the beginning of this year. China firmly opposes this kind of behavior and has already lodged representations with the Australian side."
Guo urged the relevant Australian official to stop making irresponsible remarks and to rather do more to contribute to the healthy development of China-Australia relations.
