NATO Allies and Partners strengthen cooperation on classified information exchange

Security experts from across the Alliance and its partners gathered in Bratislava this week (17-19 September 2025) for a meeting of the NATO Security Committee, bringing together representatives from over 60 countries, as well as international organisations. The three-day event was co-organised by the NATO Office of Security within the Joint Intelligence and Security Division, and the National Security Authority of the Slovak Republic.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and strengthening practices to ensure the secure exchange of classified information between NATO and its partners. Participants shared experiences, addressed common challenges, and identified opportunities to reinforce the security frameworks that support information sharing.

Chaired by Galen J. Nace, Director of the NATO Office of Security and Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Security, the NATO Security Committee acts as the North Atlantic Council's main advisory body on security matters.

"We are committed to working with our partners to promote the best security practices to protect our people, information, systems and facilities. This meeting allowed us to deepen our cooperation and reinforce the frameworks that enable secure and timely information exchange in support of NATO's and our partners' shared objectives."
